ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude: Which Free AI Is Best? (Real Test, 2026)
Same prompts, free accounts, five rounds. Every answer below is what the AI actually replied on 12 October 2026.
How we tested
All three on their free plan, logged in, in a browser. Each prompt was sent once and we kept the first answer. AI answers change every time you ask, so treat this as a snapshot, not a law.
Round 1: explain a school topic
Photosynthesis ko aise samjhao jaise main 12 saal ka hoon. Sirf 5 lines mein.

Claude does not generate images. It built an editable design in about 3 minutes.
Round 4: the twist (today's weather)
Aaj Delhi mein mausam kaisa hai? Source bhi batao.
Gemini and Claude both said sunny, about 28°C. ChatGPT said there had been heavy morning rain and waterlogging. All three gave sources, and still disagreed. Claude also said it could not name the underlying weather provider and pointed to the IMD website.
The lesson: for anything that matters (weather, prices, health, money), open the actual source yourself after the AI answers.
Round 5: how much do you get for free?
